TWITTER SEO & MR TWITTER
As I was adding a few resources to my new
Twitter Viral Marketing blog, one of the resources, Mr. Tweet, brought a point to mind that I would like to share with you.
Mr. Tweet is a tool that looks through your existing contacts and extended networks, and then tells you who you should be following, too.
As an SEO, I find concept extremely interesting. This is why ...
There is still controversy between SEOs (Search Engine Optimization Specialists) regarding whether linking to an authority site can drive better search engine rankings. This is because we all know that it is better to have all sites linking to you and not to link out unless necessary (you want more sites linking to you than you are linking out to as well).

I say the same for our personal websites, too. By rule, you do not link to a site unless they are linking to your site from a desirable page on their website. On the other hand, there were times when I noticed an increase in Google rankings after linking out to an authority site, so this concept is true in certain cases. I am not saying that Mr. Tweet is 100% nor that all authority sites are going to boost your search engine position, but if the person's Twitter has content and focus that is relevant to yours, you may want to follow suit and see if this helps increases your SE rankings.
Just something to think about!
