Yes, please do add your picture for branding. If you look at the upper right hand side of this page (a little bit under your user name), you will see a Settings link. That is where you can change you image and also control your privacy (set your account so that you have to moderate comments and such). You will see when you get there. There are links to the left that provide these additional options.
